Focused on creating a seamless online shopping experience, it actively pursues innovative payment solutions to streamline processes and elevate user experience.

Goals

Our client was looking to roll-out gift cards to consumers in Czech and Polish retail channels.

epay were tasked with administering the technical and commercial implementation of this launch involving 3,350 retail stores.

Solution

For the Czech launch, epay implemented the voucher solution as a ‘claim code on receipt’ concept in 550 stores, including subsidiaries of major German retailers. With this service, customers received a PIN on their purchase receipt which could then be redeemed against their online gift card balance.

In Poland, physical gift cards were introduced in around 2,800 stores, including a range of well-known supermarkets and convenience stores. Following that, the ‘claim code on receipt’ and ‘account loading via barcode’ systems were introduced.

To support the launch of its gift card solutions in both countries, the client launched a major promotional campaign whereby customers making their first top up of €30 or more to their gift card account would receive €10 promotional credit.

Outcome

The gift card in question is one of epay’s top sellers, boasting consistent growth rates for the company year-on-year.

Following the successful Eastern European expansion of the gift card programme, a ‘top up in store’ system was made available and administered in both countries using epay’s proprietary cash register integration software.
