How gift card processing works

Every time a customer buys, spends or checks a gift card, the transaction runs through a processor. Conductor handles each step in real time, across your stores, ecommerce, apps and third-party retailers.

Activation. When a card is sold in store, online or through a retail partner, Conductor activates it and loads its value, so no card can be spent before it has been paid for.
Authorization and redemption. At checkout, Conductor confirms the card is genuine and has enough balance, then deducts the amount instantly.
