Overview
The client is a leading e-commerce platform in Europe, known for its wide product range and focus on customer satisfaction, serving millions of users across diverse categories. Committed to a seamless online shopping experience, the client actively pursues innovative payment solutions to streamline processes and improve the user experience.
Goals
The client wanted to roll out gift cards to consumers through Czech and Polish retail channels. epay was tasked with the technical and commercial implementation of the launch, covering 3,350 retail stores.
Solution
For the Czech launch, epay implemented a “claim code on receipt” voucher solution in 550 stores, including subsidiaries of major German retailers. Customers received a PIN on their purchase receipt, which could then be redeemed against their online gift card balance.
In Poland, physical gift cards were introduced in around 2,800 stores, including a range of well-known supermarkets and convenience stores. This was followed by the introduction of the “claim code on receipt” and “account loading via barcode” systems.
To support the launch in both countries, the client ran a promotional campaign offering €10 in promotional credit to customers who topped up their gift card account by €30 or more for the first time.
Outcome
The gift card is one of epay’s top sellers, with consistent year-on-year growth. Following the successful expansion into Eastern Europe, a “top up in store” system was rolled out and administered in both countries using epay’s proprietary cash register integration software.
